How we treat Rosecea and Redness in the skin at SELF_

Is your skin Hot, Red and sensitive?

How we treat Redness on your skin at SELF_

If your skin is red, inflamed, hot, sensitive, bumpy or any mix of a few of these symptoms, you may have Rosecea, OR you may just have broken capillaries, a series of capillaries under the skin that have weakened and spread.

So many of our clients have been told they have Rosecea, by their doctor, skin therapist or even parents (there is a genetic predisposition here), but they didn’t know that they could treat it.  Some have been told they have Rosecea, are treated as such but they don’t.

There is a lot of misinformation about what causes Rosecea, such as spicy food, the consumption of alcohol, even having hot showers.  It is important to understand that although these factors can cause Rosecea to flare, if present in the skin – they don’t cause it

Rosecea is caused by structural disfunctions in the skin such as dysfunctional langerhan cells and poor lymphatic drainage, both in part due to the immune function of the skin.  The outcome of these structural disfunctions is

1.    Bacteria in the skin and small mites within the capillary vessel walls.

2.    Trans-epidermal water loss

3.    Weakened capillaries

4.    Poor circulation

Broken capillaries share many of the same symptoms but the treatment is slightly different

At SELF_ we have incredible success in treating Rosecea and broken capillaries

Heres how we do it

From the Inside out!  We correct the structure and disfunction in the skin with DMK Enzyme therapy working on boosting the skins immunity, stimulating blood and lymphatic flow through the circulatory system, flushing toxins from the skin.

If we do diagnose Rosecea, we also utilse DMK Alkaline therapy and home prescriptive skin care to treat the dermodex mite that is contributing to a lot of the redness that you can see. We utilise a product system called ‘Enbioment to reintroduce healthy bacteria and encourage the re-establishment of existing healthy bacteria essential to maintaining skin health.  By rebalancing the skin’s microbiome, we help ensure the skin’s immune and mechanical barrier functions are optimal.

Where a lot of our industry peers are quick to utilise lasers and IPL, we don’t start there as it really doesn’t treat the root cause, meaning that the redness continues to spread, causing an overall red and ruddy looking complexion.

Where doctors prescribe antibiotics, we have found in consultation with our clients that they have found this works for a time, however antibiotics implicate your gut health, which can further exacerbate the issues on your skin

There is definitely a place for IPL and we may choose to utilise this modality once the skin is strong, if we wish to cauterise any remaining vascular appearance in the skin and we know that we can get you sustainable results.  Often, it is not necessary with Rosecea skin, the proof is in the pudding.

Hot, redness and sensitive skin doesn’t have to be your experience.  You can have glossy, glowing, even toned skin.

This is our beautiful client, who has trusted us on this journey with her skin.  The results are outstanding and she is thrilled.

Please reach out in the first instance to book a skin consultation with our skin mentors, the first step is always a diagnoses so you know what you are working with, then they will talk you through the next steps to achieve this for yourself.
